Cousin Jack R. Ricketts died Oct. 13, 1918

The story above was printed in the Buffalo News June 11, 2002.
To put this in context, Jack Ricketts and Mildred Ricketts Borth were Gramp's (Jason Parker) first cousins.
In fact, we were always told that gramp, his brother and Jack all joined together and served in France together.
Gramp used to have a number of items from WW I displayed on his mantle and I vagueley remember something with Jack Ricketts name on it.
Didn't know he was buried in France.

Wasaga Beach, Ontario 1957

Nana and Gramps are in the center of the photo. I (Jackie) am holding the sign.
The Nottawa Inn was an all inclusive resort on Georgian Bay, near Wasaga Beach. I remember going there at least twice with Nana and Gramps.

Parker Story

The image above is a copy of a story published in the Buffalo Courier-Express on Oct. 17, 1926.
Make sure you see it all. It continues in the column to the right of the lower photo.
At some point in the near future I will type it all in so it is easier to read.
If you double-click on the image you will be able to read it better.

Parker Family Home, Buffalo, NY

The photo above is of the home of Jason Parker, our great, great grandfather.
It stood at the southeast corner of Delaware Avenue and North Street, next door to the Wilcox Mansion (Theodore Roosevelt Historic Site).
He was living in the home when he died Sept. 19, 1876. The home was demolished sometime after 1928.

Guess Who??

Calling all Connors and Barrett children. Can anyone quess who the nun and priest are in the above photo? I bet Sister Margaret Anne can!!
I know, but I'm not telling.
The first person to guess correctly will avoid having their knuckles wacked with a pointer.

In Memory of Aunt Jane

All:
What a tremendous tribute to our aunt, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Patrick and Katie's tribute, at the funeral, to their grandmother was terrific. They truly caught the essence of Mary Jane Parker Barrett.

It was great seeing all of our cousins together and that is the reason for starting this blog.

Our hope is that all of the Connors, Barretts and Parkers will use this as a place to post photos and let everyone know about what is going on in your lives.
Jackie
