Thank You Aunt Jane

We had a great lunch today at the Orchard Park Country Club (thanks Bill and Lynn) after a brief ceremony at Holy Cross Cemetery to lay Aunt Jane to rest with Uncle Cy.
It was great to see Aunt Pat, Sue Mason and Colleen (Gallagher), who had an adventure getting to Buffalo last night.
Lunch was on Aunt Jane. She would never let any of us pay for breakfast after Sunday Mass either.
We love her and miss her along with Uncle Jimmy and my mom Pat.

Don't forget July 10 for a family reunion up at Bay Beach.
The Crystal Beach Motel is not far from the cottage (905-894-1750)

where are the Barrett's

Friday,2/26/10
Let's get this blogging started!I'm sitting home watching a very creative young woman paint my kitchen&dining room.Bringing some much needed color to my home.Terry had a "colorful" suggestion as to how to do this without spending money.Anyway I've got all day long to fill you in on the Barrett's.
travels - Suzanne & Jim just got back from London with great updates on their granddaughter,Juliana.I'll suggest Jim post some bragging for us.They also spent some time in Paris.
Lynn,Bill & Brigid were skiing in Breckenridge,Co.All came home sans injuries - great trip.Marie Connors dog sat Max.
Terry & Peggy were in Cleveland recently visiting Molly.Karen and Katie went with them tour John Carrol. They spent some of their winter break in Ellicottville. Report excellent cross country skiing at Alleghany.
The rest of us were at home as far as I know.Catching some good action on the basketball court watching Emily(Tommy) play for Mount Mercy.Kelli Barrett was chosen for WNY volleyball - second team(hope I have that right). She also received School spirit award from Middle College.
You can usually find Jimmy, Peggy & myself at 8:30 mass on Sundays at St. Ambrose.Sometimes Katie Greenway & Renie join us.Teddy's for breakfast afterwards.Everyone welcome to join us. Even if only for breakfast -however we do have a rule concerning that.
I hope someone other than Jackie reads this & starts contributing - let's hear what you're doing - esp the next generation - their lives are certainly lively at this point - tell us where you are.

Cousin Jack R. Ricketts died Oct. 13, 1918

The story above was printed in the Buffalo News June 11, 2002.
To put this in context, Jack Ricketts and Mildred Ricketts Borth were Gramp's (Jason Parker) first cousins.
In fact, we were always told that gramp, his brother and Jack all joined together and served in France together.
Gramp used to have a number of items from WW I displayed on his mantle and I vagueley remember something with Jack Ricketts name on it.
Didn't know he was buried in France.

Nana and Gramps are in the center of the photo. I (Jackie) am holding the sign.
The Nottawa Inn was an all inclusive resort on Georgian Bay, near Wasaga Beach. I remember going there at least twice with Nana and Gramps.
